VE7LGN 147.100 MHz (+600 kHz)

This repeater is located at about 6000' AMSL on South Forge Mountain, outside of Logan Lake, BC, overlooking the TECK Highland Valley Copper mine.

In 2025, the Kamloops Amateur Radio Club (KARC) reviewed their operations and obligations, and determined that the VE7LGN site was beyond the scope of their capabilites to effectively continue to maintain. Rather than see the site lost, and the only repeater in Logan Lake removed from service, the BCFMCA entered into discussions to acquire the site and tenure. Both executive boards approved the transfer in early 2026, and the transfer process has started.

This site is 100% solar powered. It has a 900W solar array mounted to the roof (known as the "Midnite" array), and in June 2026 a new 800W solar array was added to the easterly wall of the building (known as the "TriStar" array)". It is hoped that with the additon of the additional 800W array, we will be able to sustain operations on the shortest days of the year in winter.

There are 400AH of batteris on site (charged by solar) to provide continuous operation overnight, and for an extended period of time during cloudy days.

This site is connected to the BCWARN network, via Greenstone Mountain, providing backhaul communications to the Internet.

There is a Daniels 25W repeater on site, with a Raspberry Pi running AllStarLink as the controller, as Node 520533. Coverage extends out to the Coquihalla Highway, and up and down the Highway 97C corridor from Ashcroft to Merritt, in addition to the local area around Logan Lake.

There is no PL tone required to access the repeater.

Because of the quiet RF location, this site also hosts an HF Kiwi SDR that is accessible to the public for use.

There is also an APRS digipeater (LOGAN) installed at this site, you can find it on APRS.fi.
